I have just come back from a weekend at the Staverton Park Hotel teaching on a Retreat for Stitchtopia. A lovely group of students worked all weekend on an Interlocking Chains Quilt. The quilt is made up of a repeating block but it is the colour placement which creates the interlocking effect and secondary pattern.

I have been busy adding some new workshops to my teaching list. The first is a quilt that I have called Secret Curves as the design looks as if it has curves running through it yet in reality there is not a curved seam to be found. The blocks are all pieced using straight seams.

I have been working on some stained glass patchwork and have made a block using just three plain colours (red, yellow and blue) loosely inspired by Mondrian. I have used the technique before but in a very traditional way and with a floral design so it has been good to use it a little differently
