Mead Quilters Exhibition

Two weeks ago the quilt group that I belong to held an exhibition of members work. The exhibition was on for one day only and was held in a lovely light filled hall in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire.

The hall was filled with quilts both large and small and also a display of smaller stitched items. Stitch and Knit who are our local patchwork and yarn shop came for the day with lots of beautiful fabrics and goodies to buy. There was a cushion tombola, handmade items for sale and refreshments served in the cafe area. In addition; a raffle was held with all proceeds going to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

All in all it was a very successful day. The weather was beautiful so lots of visitors came along and there was a lovely buzz of excited voices everywhere with people really enjoying the quilts. A big thank you to everyone who contributed a quilt for display and who helped out. I think we can say that it was a huge success.

  1. I would just like to say a huge thank you for my beautiful heart shaped cushion given to me at the Lister hospital breast cancer day care surgery unit.
The thought and love that must of gone into the creation means so much to me.
    Thank you
