Aurifil Threads

Everyone needs a treat now and again don’t they? I thought that I would treat myself to a lovely box of Aurifil threads. I have used Aurifil for a number of years but mostly use the more neutral shades for piecing and have a nice collection of grey, beige, lemon, cream and sage colours. I decided that I needed to build up my collection of brighter colours so that I could use them for applique also; so I bought a box from Sarah Ashford containing threads that match her Great British Quilter fabric collection. These are all 50 weight which are perfect for piecing and applique.

They kind of go well with the quilt that they are on don’t they? I made this quilt a few years ago with a collection of fabrics that contained large motifs – lots of large flowers and leaves. I do love the orange/pink/green combination. Very spring like on a grey day.
