It was so good to see the Festival back this year and organised and run in a careful and socially distanced manner. I spent three days there, teaching workshops, attending lectures, looking at amazing quilts and catching up with friends.
My friend Sarah Hibbert had a stand to promote her forthcoming book “From Collage To Quilt”. Sarah is so talented and her quilts are all stitched in linen. She makes a paper collage and then uses the collage as a stimulus to create a quilt.
It was such a surprise to see my quilt “Tropical Sunshine” on display on The Patchwork and Quilting magazine stand and to find out that it was on the cover of this month’s magazine. No matter how many quilts that I make or patterns that I write I still get a buzz to see my work in print. I love the fabrics which are from the Hello Sunshine collection by Katie Skoog for Art Gallery Fabrics as they are so fresh and summery.
The quilts were amazing. I am always so impressed by the workmanship and the creativity. Here are a couple of my favourites with the maker info.
And finally … I love teaching workshops and mostly forget to take photos as I get so engrossed in the teaching but here are a couple of photos from my mindful mending workshop and my Inchie mosaic workshop.
