I purchased a bundle of fabrics called Rebel Girl designed by Lysa Flower, from Sew Hot and had been deliberating what to make with them for some time but finally settled on a design which I kind of made up as I went along. I added a cream background fabric and a plain black fabric to the mix and made a lot of quarter circles. I then played around with these, adding some squares of fabric too. It’s all a bit abstract but I think it suits the fabrics.
I had quite a bit of fabric left over (I may have got excited and over bought) so pieced together the leftovers to make a scrappy backing. I then quilted the quilt using the walking foot in curves spaced half an inch apart. I wanted the quilting to look a little like grooves on a record. I am pleased with the result.
