Everyone needs a treat now and again don’t they? I thought that I would treat myself to a lovely box of Aurifil threads. I have used Aurifil for a number of years but mostly use the more neutral shades for piecing and have a nice collection of grey, beige, lemon, cream and sage colours. I decided that I needed to build up my collection of brighter colours so that I could use them for applique also; so I bought a box from Sarah Ashford containing threads that match her Great British Quilter fabric collection. These are all 50 weight which are perfect for piecing and applique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They kind of go well with the quilt that they are on don’t they? I made this quilt a few years ago with a collection of fabrics that contained large motifs – lots of large flowers and leaves. I do love the orange\/pink\/green combination. Very spring like on a grey day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
