Please find listed below details and photos of the workshops that I currently teach. Some workshops are available as half days or evenings while others are one day classes. A small number of workshops are 2 or 3 days in duration and these can be offered on consecutive days or with several weeks in between.

Vintage Style Flower Pin Cushions
Stitch a 3D flower pin cushion in a vintage style. Gathered and folded flower petals are stitched together to create a delightful flower which is then stitched to a padded shape. The pin cushion is finished with a large co-ordinating button. This project would make a great gift or a lovely addition to a sewing box. Half day or evening.
Inchie Mosaic
Stitch an inchie mosaic where 1" squares are decorated and embellished with stitches, beads, buttons, fabric, collage and thread to create a colour themed mosaic collage. When the 1" tiles are put together a small piece of art work results. Half day or evening.
Winter Warmer Quilt and Hot Water Bottle Cover
Machine piece a quick quilt featuring big blocks and a matching hot water bottle cover. Great for a snuggly gift. One day.
Summertime Bucket Bag
Machine piece a fabulous roomy bag which features some eye catching patchwork and is finished with metal bag feet and leather handles. This bag is from Janet's recent book "Simply Modern Patchwork Bags". One day.
Flower Market Quilt
This is a great stash busting project in a modern design where large pieced flowers sit in rows. I have made my quilt in a co-ordinating fabric range but alternatively this would be a great project for using up scraps. One day.

Quilt Modern
Machine piece a modern geometric quilt using half a jelly roll, twenty charm squares and some plain fabric. This quilt will grow quickly over the day. One day.

Simple Pleasures
A quilt for the lovers of machine applique!
Stitch a quilt full of simple, favourite motifs including shoes, flowers, ice-creams, a birdhouse, hearts, a handbag, cupcakes and many more. If you wish you can personalise blocks to include things that are special to you by substituting motifs. Finish the quilt with lots of pieced squares and rectangles. This is a two day class.

Bumpy Circles
In this workshop we will use half a jelly roll and some plain fabric, to stitch a quilt where interconnecting bumpy circles (well really they are octagons) join together to create a secondary pattern. The best news is that there are not any curved seams to stitch and very few seams to match. This quilt will grow quickly over the day. One day.

Cathedral Window Pin Cushions
Cathedral window is a folded patchwork technique which looks highly intricate. The name Cathedral Window is derived from the stained glass appearance of the finished pattern. Although the result looks complicated it is a simple technique and can be completed by hand. Half day or evening.

Owl Baby Pin Cushions
These cute little owl pin cushions are quick, easy and fun to stitch. Simple embroidery stitches and embellishments are added to their tummys and wings. They make good gifts and can be completed by hand. Half day or evening.
There Always Has to Be One! (pink elephant)
Machine piece and applique a fun quilt showcasing a parade of elephants with some flying geese thrown in for good measure. The flying geese are made using a quick technique where there is no fabric wasteage. One day.
Strips that Sizzle
Take fabric strips in a single colour way and combine them with some plain background fabric. Using a stitch and flip method combine a number of blocks to create a striking secondary pattern. One day.
Geometric Cushions
Machine piece a pair of modern geometric cushions. This is a good opportunity to use bold bright plain fabric in this striking design. One day.
Tickled Pink
This little quilt combines Dresden plate blocks, appliqued flowers and simple squares to make a cute and very pink quilt. The Dresden plates are stitched using a quick piecing method and all blocks are machined pieced or appliqued. One day.
Up in the Tree
It all goes on up in the tree! Stitch a bright, colourful quilt where cute little owls, birds and butterflies perch in the branches of a tree. Machine applique and piecing. One day.
Ladders Quilt
I just loved these fabrics as soon as I saw them and knew that they needed to be showcased in a simple geometric design. As I stitched the quilt it reminded me of ladders. If only all ladders could be this colourful! A simple and very quick quilt which is great for using a jelly roll. Machine piecing. One day.
Basement Windows Quilt
This is a traditional block made modern by stitching the blocks together on point and through use of modern fabric choices. Machine piecing. One day.
Turquoise Kisses Quilt
This is a great stash busting project in a modern design where little crosses (kisses) are positioned on the diagonal. Machine piecing. One day.
Seasonal Sampler Quilt
This quilt combines traditional blocks in a fresh modern way. There are a variety of pieced and appliqued blocks taught over a number of days with homework to complete between classes. Machine piecing. Three days.
Half Square Triangle Quilt
There is so much that you can do with a half square triangle! In this class we make small half square triangles and then have fun creating many designs to make a small quilt. Machine piecing. One day.

Stack, Slice, Switch and Stitch
Using Jan Mullen techniques, stack, slice, switch and stitch crooked versions of traditional blocks. There are no points to match or templates to make – you just pick up your rotary cutter and go for it! A number of different blocks will be taught. Machine sewing. One day.
Sampler Quilt
A workshop or workshops for beginners, which explores a number of techniques to get you hooked on patchwork! Rotary cutting, stitching accurate ¼” seams, hand and machine piecing, and appliqué are all taught depending on the number of days. Students make a sampler quilt.

A workshop or workshops for those who have perhaps completed their first quilt but wish to go on to learn some further techniques. Techniques covered include foundation piecing, machine appliqué, stained glass patchwork, Hawaiian appliqué and more complicated machine piecing. Predominantly machine sewing.

Machine piece and appliqué a quilt featuring Santa and his reindeer, angels, a bell, a snowman, carol singers, a Christmas pud, stars to name just a few. Two days.

The bag is bright and eye catching and the activities include numbers, shapes, a zip, pockets for pens, pencils and papers, a clock and a felt story-board with characters and figures. Create a small appliquéd quilt using figures, flowers and motifs from the 1930s. Machine sewing. One day.

Fresh flowers and embroidery threads and yarns are bonded to fabric to create delicate gift bags. The workshop mostly uses cutting and bonding skills with a little hand sewing. An evening.
Triple Triangles
This quilt is constructed from blocks containing triangles in 3 sizes - small, medium and large. The blocks are stitched together to create several secondary patterns. Machine piecing. One day or one half day.
Idaho Beauty Scrap Quilt
This big block scrap quilt contains big and small squares coupled with half square triangles. The good thing about this quilt is that it can be made entirely from 5" charm squares, so if you have a lot of scraps that need using up or some packs of charm squares this is an ideal opportunity to reduce that stash! Machine piecing. One day.
Storm at Sea
This is a very clever design where blocks look as if they are curved when in reality there is not a curved seam to be found. The quilt is machine pieced and can be finished to a variety of sizes. This class is for the intermediate stitcher. One day.
Flower Power
Sometimes you just have to make a quilt in a hurry and sometimes big is definitely beautiful. This quilt has a simple nine patch block alternating with large appliquéd flowers. I have made my quilt in electric pinks, lime green and aqua blue but I am sure it would work just as well in a more restful colour scheme. Machine piecing and appliqué. One day.
Summer Garden
Wreaths and sprays of appliquéd flowers are surrounded by a pieced sashing, featuring secondary star blocks. The quilt is finished with a rose bud border. Machine appliqué and piecing. Two days.

Christmas Table Runners
Stitch a festive Christmas table runner in time for Christmas using machine appliqué and piecing. Students can choose from two designs and customise the runner to fit any size table. One day.

Ginger Spice
A lovely lap quilt consisting of a centre panel containing four baskets of blooms. This panel is bordered by rows of stripped fabric, alternating with rows of vines containing flowers and hearts. Machine appliqué and piecing. Two days.
Foundation Piecing
Students will be taught the method for foundation piecing and will foundation piece a Japanese kimono figure. Hand sewing. One half day or evening.
Create a Bag
Fabric bags are very popular at the moment and it is great to be able to personalize a bag for a gift or yourself. I will have two projects for you to choose from and you can make either or both! One day.
Pleated Log Cabin
Something a little different from the normal log cabin quilt. Each of the log cabin strips is pleated which results in a textured effect and a very warm quilt with little or minimal quilting required. This project is made entirely from 2 ½" strips of fabric so if you have purchased one of those jelly rolls of fabric recently this is a good project to use it on. One day.
Fabric Collage
Create a fabric collage picture that looks as if it is a painting. Small pieces of randomly cut fabric are bonded to a background panel and then machine quilted. We will work on a small wall hanging sized collage from a source of inspiration. One day.
Classic Tulips
This appliquéd quilt features a traditional tulip design. The repeated tulip blocks in the centre are off set with a border featuring further tulips, swags and corner ribbons. The bold colour scheme adds a contemporary twist to a classic design. One day.
Scrap Quilt
A bright and cheery quilt made from random fabric scraps of many colours and patterns. This quilt is a good opportunity to use up some of those fabric scraps that you have been saving for a rainy day and the quilt can be finished to any size. For those who wish to participate we will begin the day with a small fabric swop. One day.
O Christmas Tree Quilt

O Christmas Tree 
I have had great fun making this little quilt/wall hanging. It contains nine appliquéd Christmas trees and is embellished with all sorts of buttons etc. This project can be adapted to suit and can be finished to any size. Machine or hand appliqué.

Ready Steady Christmas

Ready Steady Christmas
Christmas will soon be upon us and wouldn’t it be nice to have some hand made decorations, wall hangings etc, ready to put out in December? I will have 6 projects for you to chose from and you can make whichever you fancy. Projects include wall hangings, cushions, decorations etc. Students will receive the patterns and instructions for all projects although you will only have time to make 2 –3 projects at the most on the day. One day.

Italian Corded Quilting
Italian Corded Quilting involves inserting yarn or cord into stitched parallel channels. A raised design occurs. One half day or evening.

Home is Where the Heart Is
This project can be finished as a cushion or small wall hanging and features blanket stitch appliqué, some stitchery and a little piecing. Hand and machine stitching. One day.

Butterflies in the Stars
This quilt contains star blocks with an appliquéd centres. I have stitched butterflies in my centres but I have a selection of motifs for you to choose from if you fancy something else. This quilt contains both machine piecing and appliqué. One day.
Stars in the Cabin
Log cabin blocks are combined with stars to create a very effective quilt. The blocks can then be arranged in a number of different ways to create secondary patterns. I have made my quilt in scraps but it would work very well in fabrics of a single colour way. Machine piecing. One day.

Jelly Roll Day
This is an ideal opportunity to use up a jelly roll or left over fabric strips. I will have three designs for you to choose from so you can stitch one on the day and have the other two patterns to take away with you. Machine piecing. Four hour class.
Folk Art Felt Pin Cushions
These little pin cushions are made from wool felt and stitched by hand. I have a number of alternatives for you to try, including some penny rug designs, hearts and flowers. Hand stitching. Evening or half day.
Interconnecting Lines Quilt 
This quilt is machine pieced and is full of interconnecting lines which move over and under each other. I have used Bali scraps for my quilt on a dark background but it would work well with a pale background and either random scraps or a colour theme. One day.

Luscious Landscapes 
I have had such fun experimenting with these little designs. These landscapes use a freezer paper method of construction followed by couching yarns, ribbons and cords. They are finished with machine and hand quilting, embroidery and beading. Best of all they can be completed within the day. One day.

Christmas Star Table Runner
Stitch a festive table runner in time for Christmas using machine piecing and a little appliqué. The length of the runner can be adjusted by adding or reducing the number of stars so as to fit any sized table. One day.
Cinnamon Rose
The centre piece of this quilt is a large vase of appliqued flowers. Swags of leaves, buds and blooms surround the centre along with pieced star blocks. The quilt is finished with a pieced patchwork sashing and plain borders . Two days.
How Does Your Garden Grow?
Stitch a naive garden landscape using blanket stitch applique on a felt background. Embellish with buttons, 3D flowers and big stitches. Half day or evening.
Recycle, Reuse and Reduce
We often have clothing that we don't wish to wear any longer or perhaps a favourite item that we just can't part with because we love the fabric. In this class I will have several ideas for patchwork quilts so that you can recycle old clothing, reuse the fabric and reduce that fabric mountain that I know you have been secretly hoarding. One day.
Folk Art Felt Christmas Decorations
Stitch a selection of delightful Christmas decorations using a combination of blanket stitch applique and naive designs on felt. Embellish with Christmas fabrics, buttons and embroidery stitches. Half day or evening.

Tropical Blooms
Large appliquéd tropical blooms are bordered with patchwork strips. The blocks are then rotated to create secondary patterns. Machine piecing and appliqué. One day

Strips with a Twist
Take two colour ranges - one set of light fabrics and one set of dark fabrics. Add a bold contrast fabric. Stitch small, bold checkerboards of squares and surround these with varying size strips of fabrics. The result is a shaded quilt that looks as if it twists and turns. One day.
Bali Circles
A quick and clever technique which produces two blocks from one construction method. These blocks are stitched using machine piecing and appliqué and are then alternated to create a stunning quilt. One day.
Foundation Piece a Village
Using foundation piecing techniques create a little village of houses. Hand sewing. Half day or evening.
Fabric Flower Brooches and Corsages
Stitch a variety of flower brooches and corsages using fabric, felt and embellishments. Hand sewing. Half day or evening.
Scrappy Hearts
A quilt stitched from scraps which showcases the light and dark variations in fabric. Careful placement of the blocks produces a heart design. Machine piecing. One day.
Sawtooth Star
Create a star quilt using quick machine piecing techniques. This class is ideal for the beginner as all the basics will be taught during the workshop. One day.
Fabric Flower Necklace
Stitch a beautiful necklace containing large fabric flowers. The flowers are constructed using organza, fabric, felt, zips, buttons and a variety of embellishments. The flowers are then stitched to a fabric base with a little sparkle added for a touch of glitz and finished with a ribbon tie. Half day or evening.
Memory Star Cushion
Stitch a star design cushion using machine piecing. This class is suitable for beginners and covers rotary cutting, piecing techniques and quilting. Half day or evening.
Quilt in a Day - well almost!
Cut before you come to class or even better buy a pack of charm squares, add two contrasting fabrics, sew all day and go home with a finished quilt top. One day.
Hearts and Stars in the Garden
Machine piece and applique a quilt containing flowers, hearts and stars. A variety of pieced blocks and small and large appliqued flowers and hearts are combined to create a stunning quilt. This is a two day class with a substantial amount of homework in between!
I've Got the Blues - Chunky Necklace
Stitch a delightful chunky necklace in shades of blue. The necklace is constructed using felt balls and spiraled rolls, sparkling beads, with a twisted zip. Finish the necklace with a ribbon tie. Instructions will also be given for stitching a simple felt brooch to match the necklace. Half day or evening.
Sweet and Simple Naive Christmas Decorations
Stitch simple festive decorative shapes such as hearts, holly leaves, stars and gingerbread men in felt and fabric. Decorate with buttons and stitches. Attach these festive shapes to a small white mirror frame and finish with a ribbon hanging. Half day or evening.
